Dr. Jaushin Lee, President and CEO – Dr. Lee, the 2017 CIE Entrepreneur of the Year, is the founder and CEO of Zentera Systems. He is the visionary architect behind the award-winning Zentera CoIP (Cloud over IP) platform that enables enterprises and cloud services vendors to dramatically accelerate the provisioning of virtual network security infrastructure across cloud datacenters and enterprise on-premise environments.
Jaushin brings 20 years of R&D management and executive experience in networking and computing engineering. Before Zentera, he was the founder and CEO of Imera Systems, which provided secure enterprise collaboration solutions. He built Imera from the ground up, raised three rounds of funding, and successfully acquired a number of Global 2000 enterprise customers with a multi-million dollar run rate. Earlier, he managed Cisco’s network search engine program, supporting numerous critical product lines such as the CRS-1 router, Catalyst 4K and Catalyst 6K, among others. Jaushin has held management positions with Terawave Communications and Silicon Graphics as well as holding an assistant professorship with the EE Department at University of Virginia.
Jaushin earned a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an MS from Columbia University, and a BS from National Taiwan University, all in EE. He has published numerous international conference and journal papers and been granted a number of US patents.
Mike Loftus, VP Marketing – Mike is currently VP of Marketing at Zentera Systems. He previously served as an entrepreneur-in-residence at The Angel’s Forum. He brings over 20 years experience working with startups and early stage companies. He has held senior leadership roles with several young companies including E-machines, Graphic Media, Spectron, Connectix, Netfish Technologies and inFreeDA.
Mr. Loftus mentors Australian companies through the ANZA Technology Network and Danish companies through Innovation Center Denmark where advises early stage companies on building leadership teams, defining product roadmaps, building market entry strategy and sourcing investment capital.
Mr. Loftus has earned degrees in business and computer engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology, completed the Executive MBA program at Stanford University and completed the Franklin Covey Leadership Program.
Mike Ichiriu, VP of Technology and Products – Mike has over 20 years of practical experience leading engineering, product, marketing, and sales for growing companies in cybersecurity, datacenter, networking and IoT. His comprehensive background spans software, hardware and systems.
As VP of Applications Engineering at NetLogic Microsystems, a supplier of networking and multicore chips for infrastructure markets, he was instrumental in growing the company from its earliest days to its IPO and $3.7B acquisition by Broadcom. Mike was also GM of the Layer 7 business unit that developed deep packet inspection co-processors. At Avast Software, Mike headed up secure enterprise virtual mobile infrastructure products, and drove a product transition from an on-premises to a SaaS business model.
Mike has advised numerous networking and IoT high-tech startups, and is currently an advisor to Verdigris Technologies. He holds a B.S.E.E. from the California Institute of Technology.
Bruce Feeney, VP Sales and Service Operations – Bruce brings more than 20 years of experience in high tech software sales and related services. He has successfully cultivated sales growth with the largest technology enterprises in the US, Europe, and Asia. He has extensive experience managing sales and field teams selling new technologies, coordinating complex sales campaigns and facilitating multi company partnerships. Bruce is passionate at helping companies solve business challenges and exceeding their business objectives.
Prior to Zentera, Bruce was the VP of Sales at Imera Systems, held Senior Management Positions at both Magma and Cadence including multi-national Major Account Programs, Sales Operations and Custom Services. His background includes Multi-Cloud Network and Security, IC Design and Engineering Management. He has developed and taught consultative selling classes, computer design courses, holds multiple business and sales certifications including Santa Clara University MBA program.
Will Chu, VP Engineering – Will Chu is currently VP of Engineering at Zentera Systems. He is responsible for the system design, software development and management of the Company’s R&D teams in Asia. Will brings over 20 years of experience in managing all aspects of software development activities. He has extensive hands-on experience in planning, designing, implementing, testing, deploying and maintaining software.
Prior to Zentera, he was a Director of Engineering at Imera Systems. He led the APAC R&D team and played a major role in Imera’s success with its collaboration security management, risk management, and web-based solutions. Previously, Will held a senior role at Chunghwa Telecom Laboratories, the research and development arm of the largest telecom company in Taiwan. He was responsible for developing large BSS/OSS systems like billing, calling card and short messages, among others. Will majored in Mathematics from National Cheng Kung University and earned a MS in Industrial Engineering from National Tsing Hua University.
Praveen Gupta, Corporate Development Advisor– Praveen has extensive background in Corporate Business Development, Strategy, Venture Capital, General Management, and Product Development. He is currently Vice President of Corporate Investment & Development at HTC focused on investments, M&A, and partnerships. His current focus areas are Virtual/Augmented Reality, Smartphone, Wearable, and IoT related technologies. He held similar role at SK Telecom with focus on Mobile technologies.
While at CDIB Ventures, Praveen was involved in raising 2 VC funds and made several successful equity investments in early to growth stage Enterprise Software, Internet, Infrastructure, & Semiconductor companies. Additionally, Praveen has deep technical background in communications, retail, and energy industries with Lucent, Ericsson, Fujitsu-ICL, and Halliburton. Praveen has an MBA and Masters degrees in Physics, EE, and Computer Science from reputed institutions in India and the U.S.
Chuck House, Chairman Technical Advisory Board – Chuck House is Exec Director of the InnovaScapes Institute, following a role as Chancellor / CEO of Cogswell Polytechnical College, after 5 years as executive director of Media X, Stanford University Industry Affiliate research program on innovation, media and technology. Previously, director of Intel Corporation’s Virtual Collaboratory, EVP R&D at Dialogic, President of Spectron Microsystems, SVP at Veritas Software and Informix Software after 29 years at Hewlett-Packard, in a wide variety of roles at a number of divisions and groups.
An IEEE Fellow for Logic Analysis technology, he also was President of ACM, the world’s largest Computer Science society, and is an ACM Fellow. He holds HP’s only Medal of Defiance, awarded by David Packard for “extraordinary contempt and defiance beyond the normal call of engineering duty”. Other awards include Engineer of the Year, Smithsonian Wizard of Computing, Top 50 inventions of 20th century, CNN top 25 inventions of past 25 years, Intrapreneuring Honor Roll.
Pablo Sole, Cybersecurity Technical Advisor – Pablo Sole is a world-recognized cybersecurity expert and serial entrepreneur. He was the co-founder and CTO of Remotium, which won the Innovation Sandbox award at RSA Conference 2013 for its groundbreaking virtual mobile enterprise security solution and was acquired by Avast Software. As VP of Research for Avast, he continued to drive advanced research to uncover and mitigate threat vectors in mobile devices and desktops. He has also produced original security research at Immunity, where he developed custom security tools for clients and binary analysis tools for the Immunity Debugger. Pablo is currently working on his latest startup, which is in stealth-mode.
Pablo is an experienced reverse engineer with focuses on bug finding and exploit writing, system administration and code auditing. He has presented at international security conferences including ReCON, H2HC and Ekoparty, and has also taught courses related to information security and computer science.
