Zentera Recognized as a Software-Defined Perimeter Sample Vendor
SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Zentera Systems, Inc., the leader in workload security for the multicloud, today announced that it has been recognized in four Gartner Hype Cycle reports in 2017. The report subjects include “Business Continuity Management and IT Resilience,” “Enterprise Networking and Communications,” “Cloud Security,” and “Infrastructure Strategies.” Zentera was also recently named a Cool Vendor in Gartner’s May 2017 research “Cool Vendors in Cloud Security, 2017” for its CoIP® solution.
In the Hype Cycle reports, Gartner analyst Neil MacDonald described software-defined perimeter (SDP) as “an intersection of software-defined security and software-defined networking concepts, targeting controlled access of resources to a defined community, thus reducing the surface area for attack.” He finishes by commenting that SDPs “will appeal to organizations looking for innovative and secure ways to both connect and collaborate with their digital business ecosystem.”*
Zentera’s CoIP® (Cloud over IP®) solution protects application workloads by ensuring that security policies and implementations are consistent and elastic across diverse environments. CoIP includes application interlock, which allows companies to specify authorized applications and then lock that software with a unified overlay network. This overlay network, or enclave, fulfills the purpose of a software-defined perimeter. It is decoupled from the existing underlay network and can be up and running in less than a day.
“CoIP is unique because it integrates networking with endpoint-to-endpoint security,” said Mike Loftus, Zentera’s Strategy & Marketing VP. “With security features like network encryption, micro-segmentation, application interlock, and adaptive learning, the CoIP enclave is a software-defined perimeter that can dynamically provide defense-in-depth for application workloads in any enterprise or cloud.”
Zentera’s CoIP is available through our network of solution providers. To learn about becoming a Zentera integration partner, see http://zentera.net/zentera-partners/technology-integration-partners/.

Zentera secures application workloads in the multicloud ecosystem by connecting them through a unified virtual overlay network. The CoIP® (Cloud over IP®) suite of infrastructure security and networking solutions works with any underlay network in any environment, does not interfere with existing infrastructure, and can be up and running in less than a day. It provides defense-in-depth for enterprise applications in the cloud, moving to the cloud or on-premise. CoIP is deployed for worldwide operations by global corporations. The company has received multiple honors, including the 2017 Info Security Startup of the Year Silver Award, and is based in Silicon Valley. For more information, see www.zentera.net.
